HANOI PILOT LOW EMISSION ZONE IN BELT 1 – JOIN HAND TO BUILD A GREEN, CLEAN, CIVILIZED CAPITAL

From July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026, Hanoi City will pilot phase 1 of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in the Belt 1 area, to gradually reduce air pollution, limit emissions from vehicles and build a green, sustainable living environment.

Some things people need to note:
Area 1 (space of Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, Hanoi Old Quarter and night market):
From 19:00 - 24:00 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Motorbikes, motorbikes and cars of all types are prohibited from circulating (except for vehicles as prescribed).
Area 2 (roads surrounding and connecting the old town area):
From 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. every day.
Restrict passenger cars using fossil fuels with more than 16 seats; Stopping and parking are prohibited for cars with more than 16 seats according to the City's traffic organization plan.
The implementation of low emission zones is an important step to reduce environmental pollution, improve air quality, protect public health and move towards a green - civilized - modern Capital.
Responding to the City's policy, Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company will coordinate with functional forces to strengthen propaganda, guide and remind people and tourists to comply with regulations on low emission zones, especially on weekend nights in the Dong Xuan market area, night market and walking street space.
