EFFORTS TO FIND LOST ASSETS FOR JAPANESE TOURISTS AT DONG XUAN MARKET

On the morning of May 1, 2026, during the shift of the Security Force of Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company, including comrades Nguyen Tuong Dung (Deputy Captain of Security), Nguyen Thanh Luan (camera duty) and Tran Thu Trang (office duty), in coordination with Captain Le Tien Thanh - Order Police, Hoan Kiem Ward Police, the working group received information from two Japanese tourists about dropping their wallets while visiting and shopping at Dong Market. Spring on the afternoon of April 30, 2026.

According to the tourist, the missing cream-colored wallet contained cash and many important documents such as driver's licenses, credit cards and identification documents. In a state of anxiety, two customers returned to the market to ask for help in the search.

Determining the incident happened the previous afternoon - a time when the market was crowded, with a wide range of movement, making finding the property very difficult. However, with a high sense of responsibility, the working group promptly reported Comrade Nguyen Phi Long, Head Security Department to seek advice and direction and synchronously deploy search measures.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Luan was assigned the task of reviewing the entire camera system and tracking the movements of the two tourists. Through a thorough inspection process, the working group was able to localize the suspect area. Next, Comrade Nguyen Tuong Dung proactively coordinated with surrounding businesses to extract more cameras.

Notably, with the active support of Hung Huong business household (kiosk 176 A1), camera images showed that the wallet was dropped into a bag of goods and was packed and shipped to customers in remote provinces. Immediately, the working group contacted the shipping units and organized inspection and review of packages remaining at the market.

Not afraid of difficulties, the security force continued to open and inspect many bags of goods, combined with monitoring the direction of movement of each package through the camera system. After many hours of continuous efforts, the wallet was found intact.

The assets handed over to the two tourists included 02 driver's licenses, 04 credit cards and 1,500,000 VND in cash and other small denominations. Receiving their property back, the two Japanese guests expressed their emotions and sent their sincere thanks to the Hoan Kiem Ward Police force, Security Department and Dong Xuan market traders.

The quick, responsible and effective coordination between forces not only helps find property for tourists but also clearly demonstrates the dedicated and professional spirit of the service forces at Dong Xuan market. Thereby contributing to spreading the image of Hanoi as a safe, friendly, and humane destination in the eyes of international friends.
